In an event at ‘Icc Captain’s call’ Rohit Sharma stated his views on the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
Rohit Said “I’m very grateful to be leading this team into this World Cup,”
“I’ve seen the history of the World Cup being played and the people who have taken part in this World Cup. So I’m quite lucky to be leading this team into this World Cup. It’s quite exciting at the same time.
When asked about the World Cup Pressure He added “All these guys are quite used to going through that pressure, whether it’s playing India or away from India, pressure is something that is not going to leave a sportsman. “
“As long as you play the sport, the pressure is always going to be there. So keep that aside, focus on the job at hand. It’s very easy to say that, but it’s going to be tough. But I’m sure, we prepared really well and as long as you prepare really well, that gives you a lot of confidence going into any game.”
Further he was Asked by ‘Ravi Shastri’ that as a Host of the 2023 world cup what is his message to the captains sharing stage with him
Rohit Said “Every leader sitting here wants to achieve really really something special for their country and it is something which is very highly priced and 50 over world cup is something that I have always dreamt of growing up as a child and I am sure it’s the same for all the guys sitting here as well one thing I can assure which I am pretty sure everyone knows about it that people are gonna love this tournament here, the stadium is gonna jam packed because indian people love Cricket as much as they love their team, yeah rest assured it’s going to be a very great tournament”
Well the first match of this World cup for India after the Warm up Matches is on this coming Sunday, 08 Oct with Australia and we hope to see a fantastic thrilling performances from both the sides.
